The Ogden City Council adopted in a 7-0 vote the new Ogden City Arts and Culture Master Plan. The master plan provides a 10 to 15-year framework and roadmap for arts and cultural initiatives to move forward as a key element in enhancing quality of life, promoting economic development, increasing education and celebrating community.
The City began developing the master plan in April 2015 and contracted with an independent consultant to facilitate the community-involved process and construct the plan. The process included extensive public outreach and participation, including: online surveys, 10 public input and engagement sessions, one-on-one interviews and various small focus group meetings with community leaders.
“We are eager to see the arts further embedded as a key component in Ogden’s economic development and planning strategies,” Ogden City Council Chair Marcia White said. “This creates a valuable opportunity to celebrate Ogden’s diversity and strengthen its unique identity, as we weave arts and cultural experiences into the daily Ogden experience.”
