Patzus LLC has opened its new location on the corner of 3576 Riverdale Rd in Ogden, Utah. The new eatery aims to bring delicious Sonoran style hot dogs served with traditional Mexican sides to the city. In addition to the restaurant, Patzus will soon have a food truck that will focus on East Central Ogden neighborhoods and local business districts.
“Our restaurant strives to bring culture to customers who come to us and those we will go to via our food truck,” said Patzus owner Patricia Valiterra, “We hope to serve these customers well by providing fast and authentic food partnered with satisfying service.”
According to the US Census, 32.3% of the 87,031 residents within Ogden City are Hispanic, over double the national average of 18.1%. The Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (UHCC) recently reported that there are over 30,000 Hispanic entrepreneurs in the state of Utah. The Ogden Chapter of the UHCC has been actively working to support Hispanic entrepreneurs in Ogden, with programs such as the Business Academy.
Patzus owner Valiterra attributes the ability to expand her business to the Ogden City Business Information Center (BIC), which helped Patzus obtain funding necessary to expand their business.
“Patzus has benefitted from being able to receive a BIC loan,” Valiterra said, “It allowed us to purchase lacking equipment and facilitate a more efficient workload. This helps us earn more revenue while providing faster service to customers.”
Ogden City cares about local businesses and is committed helping them secure necessary funding they need to grow.

Regardless of potential language barriers, the BIC is committed to serving all current and potential Ogden businesses. Jenny Villicana recently joined the BIC team as a Loans Assistant. She is fluent bilingual Spanish/English and is able to serve as an interpreter for entrepreneurs who primarily speak Spanish.
