Angela Choberka has lived in Ogden for over 12 years. She was elected to represent Municipal District 1 on the Ogden City Council in November 2017. She is married to her husband, Matthew, who is a professor of art at Weber State University, which is what brought the Choberkas to Utah. They have both been active in numerous capacities in the community throughout their time here. Their children, Olivia and Luca, also love living in Ogden and participating in soccer, basketball, and various art shows throughout the area from time to time.
Angela is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership and
Policy at the University of Utah. She works at Intermountain Healthcare on a
project that seeks to address health equity issues in the community – the Utah
Alliance for the Determinants of Health. The goal is to create change to
eliminate health outcome disparities locally in Weber County and then scale
those efforts across the state.
Angela believes the community we live in is unique because there is the possibility for each individual to participate in improving it by working together. We are not such a big city that the individual people get lost, but we are a vibrant city filled with diverse people who care enough to invest their time and resources to build on the city’s historical foundation toward the best life experiences for us all. She is an avid social justice advocate and seeks to engage all residents’ voices in our governmental processes.
