Billing System

Ogden City provides detailed monthly bills. We make every effort to read each water meter every month barring adverse conditions, or inclement weather.  Bills are generally estimated from December through February due to snow and freezing temperatures . In order to maintain the most cost efficient manner of meter reading, the City is divided into several control areas. The location of your property within this control area, determines the day of the month your meter is read. Bills are produced weekly for those specific areas. Because of this strict scheduling, and our desire to offer quality service while maintaining cost efficiency, we regret we are unable to change the day your meter is read and billed.

Billing Process And Collection

Bills are due upon receipt and are considered past due seventeen days from mailing. Water payments may be made at our office located at 133 W. 29th Street, on line (see below), by an automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account (see below), or by mailing the bill along with a check in the self-addressed envelope included with your monthly statement.  Please bring your complete water bill with you.  A night deposit box is available on the northeast side of our building.  For your convenience, current wter bill payments are also accepted at:

  • Harmon's Foods on 2nd Street and
  • The City Cashier located in the Municipal Building, Suite 240
  • Drop-off boxes are available for your convenience in the Municipal Building parking lot (2549 Washington Blvd.) or the Public Works building (133 W. 29th Street.)

Credit arrangements are available to owners on a short -term basis. Arrangements for payment can be made in the Utility Office. If your account falls past due, and arrangements for payment have not been made, your water may be shut off. Once service has been disconnected, the full balance plus a $40.00 service charge are required to be paid in full prior to the water being turned back on. If we don't get your order to restore service until after 4:00, we won't be able to get the water turned back on until the next day.
