911

Crime prevention cannot be achieved by the police alone. Law enforcement officers must work hand-in-hand with the public to fight crime throughout our communities. As such, we depend heavily on your assistance in reporting crimes to the police. If you have been a victim of a crime, please report it. We understand it's never easy, but if crimes are left unreported, then in effect we've given criminals a free ticket to commit more crime, damaging both individuals and communities again and again.

Reporting Emergencies

In an emergency you should always dial 911. Use this service to contact police in situations when you need an immediate response - if a crime is happening now or if someone is in immediate danger. 911 services also handle calls for the fire department and ambulance services so please be clear about which service you need.

Reporting Non-Emergencies

Non-Emergency

If you wish to contact the Ogden City Police Department about a non-emergency please call 801-395-8221. You can call it this number anytime, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please do not call 911 for non-emergencies.

Reporting Crime in Person

If the crime was committed within Ogden City limits, you can report the crime in person at the Ogden Public Safety Building. Upon arrival, you will be asked to provide the details of the crime and make a formal statement about the facts of the case. Afterwards, you’ll receive a case reference number for use in tracking progress of your case and for making an insurance claim.

Reporting Crime Anonymously

Residents can dial 801-399-HELP (4357) to assist in helping resolve issues in and around their neighborhoods. Dialing 399-HELP during City business hours will give you a live respondent who will track your request until you are satisfied. You are encouraged to call 399-HELP (4357) for anonymous tips and to both report and receive live help for a non-emergency crime. You will also receive a follow-up call to relay what action the city is taking toward your request.
