The Ogden City Fire Department (OFD) responds to a full range of incidents including emergency medical, fire, hazardous materials, high angle rescue and confined space rescue incidents. Fire incident response is provided by the nearest engine company being backed by a second engine company, a battalion chief, ladder, rescue and ambulance units. For some types of fire incidents a third engine company may also respond. A mutual aid agreement with neighboring jurisdictions will automatically send their resources to assist with the outer areas of Ogden City; OFD will in turn respond to other areas as needed.

Fire Units

Several different types of fire units exist to provide emergency response services to the community. Fire units are staffed on 24 hour shifts and consist of the following:

• One Chief’s SUV
• Two quint units
• Two engine units
• One engine/ambulance unit
• One airport fire and rescue response unit
• Two brush trucks
• One regional hazardous materials laboratory unit
• Two reserve engine units

Fire Operations and Medical Operations share staffing on any given day and are cross-trained to serve all basic incident response functions.
