Susie, as she is known to her friends, is a 28 year resident of Ogden. She was previously selected by the Council to fill At-Large Seat A, which was vacated by Bill Glassman in September of 2006 and was elected by the citizens of Ogden in 2009 to fill the same seat. She was elected by the Council in 2010 as Council Vice Chair.

There are several issues facing Ogden at this time that could significantly affect the future of Ogden and she believes that her experience on other local committees will bring a fresh perspective to the decision process as these issues are debated and resolved.

Susie is a trained educator, having taught for 10-years in the Jefferson Parish School district in Louisiana and for nearly 20 years in the Ogden City School District. Her final position was as the Media Specialist at C. H. Taylor Elementary where she was also a second grade teacher. She retired from teaching in 2001.

Susie has been active in civic affairs for several years. As a member and past Chairman of the Ogden City Landmarks Commission she was deeply involved in the oversight of the restoration of the Egyptian Theater, the Ogden City Municipal Building and the redevelopment of 25th Street. She is a past President of the Weber County Heritage Foundation and has been active in promoting the Annual Home Tour, which in 2009 raised $10,000 in support of the restoration of Ogden High School. She is a member of the Ogden Salvation Army Board, the Crossroads of the West Advisory Committee and is Vice President of the Egyptian Theater Foundation Board. For several years she was also a member of the Miss Rodeo Ogden/Miss Rodeo Utah Committees. She also served on the Ogden Pioneer Days 75th Anniversary Committee.

Susie enjoys traveling, working in her yard, gardening, and her grandchildren. She has been married to her husband for more than forty-five years. She is the mother of two sons and a daughter all of which were educated in Ogden City Schools. She has a passion for anything old.
