Ogden City offers new and recently-remodeled homes for sale to owner-occupant buyers through its Home Sweet Ogden program. The new homes are located in Ogden's older neighborhoods, and are designed to complement the historic architecture of the area. Special financial assistance is provided.

Established in 1988, the Own in Ogden down payment assistance program has helped over 1,000 households realize the dream of home ownership. This home ownership program is offered in specifically-targeted areas of Ogden City, providing $3,000 in zero interest, deferred-payment loans that decline to a complete credit over a five-year residency requirement.

Started in October 2004, the goal of Ogden City’s Good Landlord Program is to address aspects of property management that may encourage the elimination of code violations and public nuisances while controlling and preventing illegal activity on rental properties that affect the quality of life within our neighborhoods. The program provides financial incentives to landlords who actively implement the objectives of the landlord training course, keep their properties free of criminal activity, and maintain their properties free of code violations.

The Federal Fair Housing Act, passed in 1968 and amended in 1989, prohibits discrimination in housing practices against any person because of their race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability, or familial status.
