Ogden Redevelopment Agency
The members of the Ogden City Council also serve as the Ogden Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Board of Commissioners. The Commission approves the RDA budget, programs, policies, and large projects.
The Ogden Redevelopment Agency is responsible for administering the expenditures of State and Federal funds to improve neighborhoods and encourage new or existing businesses. Neighborhood programs include rehabilitation of the City's housing stock, construction of new dwelling units, matching grants to improve neighborhoods, Own-in-Ogden loans, and emergency home repair funds.
Business development programs are focused on eliminating blighted areas, encouraging new businesses, retaining existing jobs, and creating new jobs. Business development focuses on downtown Ogden and the reuse of Business Depot of Ogden (formerly Defense Depot of Ogden).
The RDA meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the City Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m. (until April 11, 2006, when the meeting time will change to 6:00 p.m.). Special RDA meetings may be scheduled as needed. |
