SOUTH EAST MANAGEMENT UNIT  (South of Ogden River, East of Monroe Boulevard.)

Interim Acceptable Street Tree Species List
(all park strips with overhead utility lines must plant small trees only)

• Limited use of Ash Trees
• No use of Mountain Ash
• Limited use of Maples especially Emerald Queen Norway Maple

Small Trees (for Parking Strips three feet to five feet in width)

Amur Maple – Acer ginnala
Aristocrat Pear – Pyrus calleryana “Autumn Blaze�
Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry – Amelanchier x grandiflora
Chanticleer Pear – Pyrus calleryana “chanticleer�
May Day Tree – Prunus padus var commutata

Medium Trees (for Parking Strips five feet to eight feet in width and no overhead utility lines)

American Yellow Wood – cladrastis lutea
Autumn Flame Maple – Acer rubrum “Autumn Flame�
Emerald Queen Norway Maple – Acer platanoides (use sparingly)
Golden Raintree – Koelreuteria paniculata
Kingan Fruitless Mulberry – Morus alba “Kingan�
Little Leaf Linden – Tilia cordata

Large Trees (for Parking Strips eight feet and up in width, and no overhead utility lines)

American Sweetgum – Liquidambar styraciflua
Ginkgo Tree – Ginkgo biloba
Hackberry – Celtis occidentalis
Japanese Zelkova – Zeldova serrata
Kentucky Coffee Tree – Gymnocladus dioicus
