Ogden's Urban Fishing Opportunities:

Ogden provides access to excellent fishing opportunities with an "urban angle!"  Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, Ogden's urban corridor has a fishing spot for you.  The Ogden and Weber Rivers provide excellent fishing opportunities.  Children under 14 fish for free! 

Ogden River Parkway

  • Location: Mouth of Ogden Canyon to Washington Blvd, approx. 1700 S.
  • Size: Variable
  • Hours: Posted
  • Daily bag & possession limit: Four trout, otherwise, general regulations
  • Boating & floating: No
  • Likely catch: Rainbow trout, brown trout, albino rainbow trout
  • Possible catch: Bonneville cutthroat trout, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, black crappie
  • Site extras: Restrooms, picnic tables, park
  • Site rules: Posted
  • Handicap access: Yes

Weber River

  • Location: Various access along river, from the Highway 89 Bridge (at I-84), downstream through Ogden (and its suburbs) to the confluence with Ogden River.
  • Size: Variable
  • Hours: No restrictions
  • Daily bag & possession limit: General regulations
  • Boating & floating: OK — float tubes
  • Likely catch: Rainbow trout, brown trout, mountain whitefish, albino rainbow trout
  • Possible catch: Bonneville cutthroat, Utah sucker, carp, channel catfish, smallmouth bass
  • Site extras: None (improvements pending)
  • Site rules: Respect private property
  • Handicap access: No

Fort Buenaventura

  • Location: Go west on 2400 S., turn left on A Avenue (just west of Weber River)
  • Size: Two-acre pond
  • Hours: 8:00 a.m. until dark
  • Daily bag & possession limit: Two trout, otherwise, general regulations (catch & release encouraged)
  • Boating & floating: OK — canoes, float tubes
  • Likely catch: Rainbow trout
  • Possible catch: Bluegill, bass, carp
  • Site extras: Shade, picnic areas, tables, restrooms, grills
  • Site rules: Pond fishing for children age 13 and under
  • Handicap access: No
