The Union Station will hold RecConnect, an outdoor innovation expo and networking event, on March 23, 2018. This expo is held in conjunction with the Outdoor Weber entrepreneurship competition, and it is free and open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m.
The latest in outdoor recreation gear and activities from the competition sponsors will be featured, and giveaways, contests, and opportunities to take home promotional items and prizes will take place throughout the event.
The Outdoor Weber entrepreneurship competition was an open contest hosted by Weber State University's Hall Global Entrepreneurship Program and several other sponsors that asked participants for only one thing, an idea. University students from across the country and internationally were invited to compete by entering a 90-second proposal video of their idea that was voted on by the general public. The top 25 contestants with the highest votes were narrowed down to ten finalists by a panel of judges, and the winner of the contest will be announced by the keynote speaker at the end of the event.
Marcus Lemonis, star of CNBC’s The Profit and CEO of Camping World, will be the keynote speaker at the expo from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Registration is required to secure a spot at the speech, but the event is free and the public is invited.
